AfriForum and businesses fix potholes in Bethal

BETHAL – It has been a busy week for AfriForum and businesses alike, seeing a total of eight projects completed in the fight to clean up Bethal.

These projects have seen the closing up of potholes in Buffel Street where 220 bags of tar were used.

An additional 300 bags of tar were used to close up potholes in Tsibitsa Sibanyoni Street and Malherbe Street.

AfriForum’s Mr Hennie Bekker, who is the district coordinator for Lowveld District AfriForum, thanked All City Towing for their assistance in the closing up of potholes in these areas.

Other projects included the repairs and replacing of street name blocks.

This would not have been possible without the help from Bethal Foto Drukkers.

Verges were cut at the local police station as well as along the N17. The area around the Nestlé bridge also saw verge cutting.

“I want to encourage residents and businesses to get involved in cleaning-up campaigns such as this. We need to take our town back from a failing Govan Mbeki Municipality,” said Mr Bekker.
