Motorist dies after collision with cow on the N2 near Ermelo

Emergency personnel stated that the cow that was run over was slaughtered by passersby.

A woman died in a car accident after her vehicle collided with a cow on the N2 about 60km outside Ermelo on the Piet Retief Road (N2) on 2 April.

After crashing into the cow, the vehicle overturned.

There were no other vehicles involved in the accident and the woman was travelling alone.

ER24, Piet Retief Fire Department, the Provincial Ambulance Services as well as the police were on scene.

Earlier today another accident occurred on this road and five people were admitted to the Ermelo Provincial Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
