Delta 1 Rescue divers complete NAUI Public Safety Diver course

According to Mr Andries Lee, one of the directors of Delta 1 Rescue Diving, this will assist them during search and rescue, search and recovery and body recovery scenes.

Delta 1 Rescue Diving and Mpumalanga Inland Water Policing began recently with a National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) Public Safety Diver (PSD) course.

The PSD course is internationally recognised and the team will be evaluated during the next couple of weeks.

According to Mr Andries Lee, one of the directors of Delta 1 Rescue Diving, this will helpt them during search and rescue, search and recovery and body recovery scenes.

“Fitness and mental endurance are of utmost importance for the course which includes practical and theoretical exams,” Mr Lee said.

Mr Lee also said that it is mind-blowing what the human body is capable of doing under stress and under water.

He added that it had been a long two days and well worth it.
