UPDATE: Highveld Ridge SPCA is still searching for injured wild animal
It is currently unknown where the video was recorded and who recorded it.
UPDATE: ( 8pm)
The Highveld SPCA management believes the injured animal was spotted along the old Charl Cilliers road.
In the meantime, wildlife enthusiasts who have seen the video think the animal is not an aardwolf, but rather a brown hyena or a striped hyena.

7 May (1.36pm) The Highveld Ridge SPCA needs help in finding an injured aardwolf that was apparently spotted in the Secunda area today, 7 May.
A motorist sent a video of the injured animal to the Wild and Free Rehabilitation Centre who in turn sent it to the Highveld Ridge SPCA for assistance.
It is currently unknown where the video was recorded and who recorded it. Several people have already commented on the SPCA’s Facebook page that they are willing to help in the search, but they need to know where to begin the search.
The SPCA urgently needs information so that they can help the animal.
They suspect it was run over. Aardwolves are considered endangered and no one, except a vet can euthanize such an animal if need be.
Anyone with information, especially the person who made the video, are asked to contact the SPCA at 082 222 1122.
