Sasol celebrates International Firefighters’ Day in Secunda with Langamed and Working on Fire

“Not only do we remember those who lost their lives but also those who inspire us, groomed us and taught us.”

Sasol Secunda joined in celebrating the annual International Firefighters’ Day on 4 May.

The day is observed to honour the work and sacrifice made by firefighting experts.

This special day is marked to pay respect to those professionals who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Sasol Emergency Management (EM) department invited Langamed South Emergency Services and Working on Fire teams to join them in the commemoration march of this day.

“This day is where we celebrate those brothers and sisters of ours who have lost their lives in line of duty.

“Not only do we remember those who lost their lives but also those who inspire us, groomed us and taught us,” said Mr André Labuschagne, senior manager – Emergency Management.

“The Emergency service is a closely knit group of brothers and sisters that make a family who are proud to be associated with each other.

“Each member of our family is dedicated to the cause of saving lives, protecting property and rendering a humanitarian service as we serve our communities. We are proud to celebrate National Firefighters’ Day,” said Mr Labuschagne.
