Protesters block roads in Leandra early morning

Leandra police are removing stones and burning tires in the middle of R50 and R29 roads.

Protesters are standing next to Lebohang township taxi rank.

They began early morning to burn tyres around Leandra.

Many schools are operational, but buses were unable to collect people who were going to work as roads were blocked with stones and burning tires.

MegaBuses were queueing at Leandra Police Station waiting to transport commuters and learners.

Community members were forced to walk long distances to reach the buses.

Things have since quieted down and currently all appears calm.
