Students are unhappy with college in Secunda

Spokesman says students did receive results.

Students of a college that offers tutorial services to students from different institutions, are concerned because they still have not received the results from their exams written in April last year.

The tutorials that this particular college offers are in engineering studies N1 to N6, matric rewrites and extra classes and university tutorials.

A spokesman of the college said the students’ results are pending and that the authorised people who are supposed to submit the term marks to the Department of Education did not submit the term marks and as a result the Department did not issue results.

He further said: “These pending results does not come from us, or the colleges, it comes from the Department of Education.

“All our students know this, we have communicated this with them. Many factors are causing this, for example term marks, ICASS marks (internal continuous assessment) not submitted and irregularities.”

He said the students who had problems with their results were re-registered and allowed to re-write their exams in May this year.

“All the students who wrote in April last year did receive their results.

“The only thing they did not get, was their statements which are being held by the college where they wrote exams, as we are indebted to them, we organise academic records and have them for our candidates.”

The college does not have a centre number or accreditation and according to the spokesman of the college, this is explained to all their students when they enroll.
