{WOMEN’S MONTH} – Audrey Maleka encourages women to unite and take a stand
“Women are facing so many threats in society as well as issues of inequality. It is therefore important that even in the midst of everything, women should stay united, have one voice and be able to help in order to be the change they need in society,” she said.
ERMELO – Ms Audrey Dimakatso Maleka believes if women unite and share one voice, they can be the change they want to see in the community.
Growing up, Ms Maleka always wanted to give back to the community or to do a job that would enable her to help improve the lives of those around her.
She dreamed of being a social worker, as she always thought their career had some of the most hardworking professionals who participated in empowering people.
“Women are facing so many threats in society as well as issues of inequality. It is therefore important that even in the midst of everything, women should stay united, have one voice and be able to help in order to be the change they need in society,” she said.
Ms Maleka added that women can do so much in terms of changing the state of our country.
“If we really form a force, encourage one another and unite at all times, it will be possible.”
Being a woman played a big role in all the charity work Ms Maleka has done in communities.
“I always strive to maintain sustainability and achieve a long-term goal when engaging in charity work,” Ms Maleka said.
She aims to leave people with something sustainable that they can use as a tool to better themselves, to be empowered and to provide for themselves.
