eMbalenhle teachers win national awards
I wish all local schools teachers can participate in these awards next year.
Two teachers from eMbalenhle primary schools excelled at the 2021 National Teaching Awards held at the Mpumalanga University in Nelspruit on Thursday, September 2.
Ms Nomsa Makadikwa Lekgeu, a Shapeve Primary School teacher received an accolade for second place while Ms Priscilla Masombuka from Allan Makhunga Primary School came up in the third position.
They began competing at the Gert Sibande District level awards held at Osizweni Combined School, on August 31, where both of them won in different categories.
Ms Masombuka won an Excellence award in primary school Leadership award and Ms Lekgeu also won grade R teaching award.
Both teachers were awarded tablet gadgets together with certificates of achievement.
Other educators who won district level awards are Mr Patrick Kolobe, the principal of Lifalethu Primary School, who received a lifetime achievement award, and Ms Nomsa Masiteng, from Shapeve Primary School that won a primary school teaching award.
“I wish all local teachers can participate in these awards next year. I observed other districts participated in numbers but we were only four of whom two from our sub-district proceeded to the national awards, said Ms Masombuka.
