A woman on a motorcycle died on the P185 road in Secunda, between the traffic lights intersection to Ext 22 and the pedestrian bridge, at about 18:20 tonight (October 11).

According to sources on the scene, the motorcyclist was driving towards Evander when the motorcycle appears to have veered off the road onto gravel where the edge of the road had crumbled away. No other other vehicles were involved.

Midfire EMS paramedics attended to the biker, but she died on the scene.

Motorists were warned to drive with caution while only one lane was open for traffic.
