Veld fire spreads over three residential stands in Ermelo

ERMELO – A veld fire in an open stand among residential homes spread over two stands in Davel Street on September 9.
Mr Mandla Zwane, the spokesman for the Msukaligwa Fire and Rescue Services, said the fire services had received a call at 12:45 about a grass fire in an open stand.
“On arrival, the fire had already spread to two neighbouring stands,” he said.
Mr Zwane added on the third stand, two vehicle wreckages in the yard and various rubber items had caught alight.
Firefighters immediately ensured the blaze did not spread to the other houses and stands.
