Enpower Machite supports National Arbor Week at Bethal and eMzinoni

Planting indigenous trees is seen as a practical and symbolic gesture of sustainable environmental management.

Voicing their commitment to the environment, Enpower Machite planted trees at the Belinah Stimulation Centre and the Lethithemba drop-in Centre in eMzinoni on September 3, in support of National Abor Week.

National Arbor Week in South Africa is a time when South Africans of all ages are encouraged to celebrate the beauty and importance of our trees.

Planting indigenous trees is seen as a practical and symbolic gesture of sustainable environmental management.

“As Enpower Machite we are very honoured and delighted to make a contribution to the environment by planting trees in the community today.

“We are also here today to remind ourselves of the importance of planting and conserving trees which are playing a very important role in our lives” said Ms Sisanda Mqwebedu, revenue management and customer services manager, at the tree planting events.

She said the importance of trees is not only measured in terms of shade, fruits and greening the towns and cities, but trees have become vital in many ways.
