NDP Foundation in eMbalenhle gives back to community

Organisation donates necessary items to needy families

The NDP Foundation at eMbalenhle launched its sanitary towels and cosmetics drive on Friday, October 8 and plans on reaching out to girls.

Mr Nkosinathi Hleza, founder of this non-profit organisation, said this project was established on September 27 and on October 8 they drove to eight stops to create awareness of this project.

They also recently held a door-to-door campaign to promote the project.

Mr Hleza urged the community to support this project and to donate a packet of sanitary towels.

“A girl should not miss a day of school because she menstruates and cannot afford it to buy sanitary products,” said Mr Hleza.

This is an ongoing project and the NDP Foundation monthly donates sanitary products to teenage girls.

“The aim of this project is to leave footprints for our youth to follow.

“With every project we launch, we appoint a committee who is responsible for collecting, donating and promoting the campaign.

“Thank you to all our donors who supported this project and who contributed towards it.”

Another organisation, Breakthrough, came forward and embarked on this journey with the NDP Foundation.

Mr Hleza invited more businesses and organisations to work with them.

At the Petunia Day event, taking place on Monday, October 18, the NDP Foundation will donate sanitary products to 20 girls and food parcels to 10 needy families.
