Charl Cilliers cops learn to fight fire

“With all the recent riots and attacks on municipal buildings and government departments, it is always good to be informed and to know what to do while waiting for the fire department.”

Charl Cilliers Police Station recently hosted firefighting training for the members.

According to Const Millicent Mqoco, communication officer and social crime prevention officer for Charl Cilliers Police Station, there was a need for officials to be equipped and trained in case of fire.

“With all the recent riots and attacks on municipal buildings and government departments, it is always good to be informed and to know what to do while waiting for the fire department,” she said.

Mr Dan Dhudhlu from Govan Mbeki Municipality’s Fire Department helped with the fire safety awareness and training on using fire extinguishers.

“The members were very excited to have this training. They now know what to do when a fire breaks out at the police station or in their homes.

“We aim to equip more members. Every member must have this course for their benefit and safety even in their own house,” Const Mqoco said.
