Three children die in a head-on collision near Kriel
A woman and man from the car had sustained serious to moderate injuries, while a woman who was a passenger in the taxi had sustained moderate injuries.
Three children were killed and three adults injured in a head-on collision on the R580 outside Kriel on Sunday night, January 30.
ER24 ambulance services and other services were on scene at 21:10 to find a light motor vehicle on the side of the road while a taxi was in the middle of the road.
Russel Meiring, communication officer of ER 24, said medics found two girls and a boy, believed to be aged between 4 and 16, lying a short distance away from the car.
The children had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.

Medics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
