Two men die in head-on collision on N17 near Kinross

A woman in her 30s, who was a passenger from the light motor vehicle, was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries.

Two men were killed and a woman was injured when a light motor vehicle and a taxi collided head-on on the N17 outside Kinross, towards Leandra on Sunday night, January 30.

ER24 and other services arrived at 19:42 to find a taxi on its side on the side of the road. The car was found on the left lane of the road.

On closer inspection, medics found a man lying in a taxi while another man was lying a few metres away from the car.

According to Russel Meiring, communications officer for ER24, both men had already succumbed to their numerous injuries.

Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.

A woman in her 30s, who was a passenger from the light motor vehicle, was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries.

She was treated and transported by another service to a nearby hospital for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
