Accident near Evander leaves six injured

According to Ross Campbell, ER24 multimedia producer, the driver of a silver Datsun was found roughly 10m from the car, having been ejected.

Six people were injured in a head-on collision between two light motor vehicles on the R546 between eMbalenhle and Evander early on Saturday morning, February 5.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 03:09 to find the two cars roughly 50 meters apart.

A 40-year-old  man, who was the driver of a white VW Golf, was found to have sustained moderate injuries.

ER24 treated and transported him to Evander Provincial Hospital for further care.

According to Ross Campbell, ER24 multimedia producer, the driver of a silver Datsun was found roughly 10m from the car, having been ejected.

He had suffered serious injuries and was transported with another private service on the scene.

“Our paramedics then found four passengers from the Datsun all having suffered moderate injuries.

“Three women and a man, all aged between 17 and 30, were treated and transported to Evander Provincial Hospital for further care.

“All relevant law enforcement were on scene,” said Campbell.
