Golf-driver in serious condition after collision with bakkie near Bethal

“The driver of the Golf was found to be in a serious condition and was treated and transported to Bethal Provincial Hospital by the provincial EMS for further care.”

Two people have suffered injuries, one seriously, following a collision between a bakkie and a VW Golf on the N17 between Bethal and Davel on Saturday night, February 5.

Ross Campbell, multimedia producer for ER24, said their paramedics arrived on the scene at 20:55 to find a Nissan Hardbody in the veld and a crumpled Golf still in the road.

“The driver of the Golf was found to be in a serious condition and was treated and transported to Bethal Provincial Hospital by the provincial EMS for further care.

“A 34-year-old woman, who was the passenger from the bakkie, was found to have suffered minor injuries and was treated and transported to Bethal Provincial by ER24,” said Campbell.

The man who drove the bakkie was uninjured in the incident.

The police were on the scene for further investigation.
