Sasol 2 Bulldogs wins match against Sasol 1 Secunda
Sasol 1 is still at the top of the log.
The Sasol 2 Bulldogs cricket team beat the Sasol 1 Secunda cricket team on Sunday, 6 February in a match at the Sasol Recreation Club.
Sasol 2 Bulldogs won the toss and sent Sasol 1 Secunda in first to bat.
Sasol 1 made 149 runs all out.
Colin van Staden was one of Sasol 1’s top scorers and made 32 runs.
Stuart Campbell of Sasol 2 took five wickets and was also this team’s best bowler.
The spokesman of Sasol Cricket Club, Ignus Koekemoer, said the match was a fantastic effort by Sasol 2 Bulldogs to beat Sasol 1 Secunda and they managed to chase down the target and won with five wickets.
Campbell made 39 runs and Vernon Fourie made 34 runs, not out.
Koekemoer took two wickets for 40 in his 10 overs.
Koekemoer said cricket in Secunda is as strong as ever.
Although Sasol 1 Secunda lost on Saturday, they are still in the lead and at the top of the log with 25 points with Sasol 2 currently in the second place on the log with 24 points.
Standerton is third on the log with 16 points and there is still three rounds to go.
Sasol 1 will be facing eMbalenhle at the Sasol Cricket Club on Saturday and Sasol 2 will be facing Standerton at Standerton on Sunday.
