Mgwaba-family from Leandra needs help
“We also have no privacy. I am afraid this will affect my children’s education and performance at school ” said Mdluli.
The Mgwaba family of seven who are living in a one-room house needs help after their house was destroyed by fire from a candle five years ago.
According to Dudu Mdluli, an unemployed mother of five children, it is even difficult for her children to study because of the small space in their house.
The roof is also leaking.
“We survive on grant money and we cannot afford to buy corrugated iron sheets to extend our house.
“This one room was the only thing left for us, our clothes and other necessities had been destroyed in the fire.
When it rains, I am forced to knock on our neighbours’ door to ask that they keep my children’s school books so that it does not become wet.
“We also have no privacy. I am afraid this will affect my children’s education and performance at school ” said Mdluli.
Mdluli also said every time she needs to bathe, she must send her children outside even if is at night and that’s the only way she can have privacy.
She asked for help with corrugated iron sheets, food and other necessities for her children.
She said anyone who wants to assist can contact Mr Mtungwa Mkhatshwa on 082 956 1153
