Suspects in Volksrust robbery still at large

After the robbery at a retail store, descriptions were given of the vehicles involved.

An intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday, February 22 yielded success after a robbery in Volksrust.

According to information, detectives and security personnel apprehended some of the suspects in connection with the crime.

Volkrust detectives, a Volkrust crime security unit and Shabangu Brothers Security worked together.

After the robbery at a retail store, descriptions were given of the vehicles involved.

A white, Vito Mercedes Benz and a white, Nissan NP 200, with eight occupants, were the getaway vehicles.

The mini-bus was subsequently spotted on the N11 towards Ermelo, chased and stopped.

Two suspects were inside the mini-bus and the vehicle was loaded with televisions, laptops and other items.

The driver of the Nissan fled the scene, but the vehicle was finally found, parked at a house in Ermelo.

The driver was also arrested, the other suspects however, fled the scene and are still at large.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Volksrust Police Station.
