Delmas Animal Shelter needs help
“Thank you for helping and supporting Delmas Animal Shelter where we believe that every little animal soul deserves a bit of hope.”
With winter around the corner and the sudden onset of rain and colder days and nights, the Delmas Animal Shelter urgently needs donations.
“People often ask why we are in constant need of food for our animals.
“Although we are at capacity at our facility and simply can’t take in any more animals, the public still brings animals or simply drop them off on the premises,” said JorindaVerwey.
According to the Verwey mother and daughter team, it is impossible to simply turn animals away.
Jorinda told Streeknuus that they would always try to make a plan to make space for abandoned animals.
”The animals need our help and we need the help from the public to continue to feed our beloved animals.”
The Delmas Animal Shelter is unfortunately situated on a farm deep in from the R50-road between Delmas and Bapsfontein with mostly inaccessible roads, especially when it rains.
It is therefore difficult for the community to reach the shelter and for Jorinda and Jolandie to regularly fetch donations from donators.
“It is also difficult for us to get off the farm with the road in such terrible condition most of the time.”
Three drop-off points have been identified and Jorinda asks the public to only use these drop-off points.
“We are then certain that your donation will reach the Delmas Animal Shelter.”
Contact Jorinda on 060 613 1048 or 076 808 6684 to obtain the addresses where donations can be safely dropped.
“We want to thank the public for understanding our situation.
“Thank you for being angels to us and the animals at the shelter.
