Law firm in Evander celebrates 22 years
Kgomo and Nsibande Incorporated likes to give back to community.
Kgomo and Nsibande Incorporated law firm celebrated 22 years of existence earlier this year with a gala evening in Secunda.
The evening was attended by the Minister of Justice, Ronald Lamola, as well as the executive mayor of Govan Mbeki Municipality, Nhlakanipho Zuma.
Kgomo and Nsibande Incorporated had been involved in several charity projects and organisations over the years including the Lesedi Day Care Centre and the Siyanqoba Old Age Center where they donated blankets and food parcels.
They have also sponsored a gospel band, Ubuhle Buka Jehovah and an U/16 soccer team in eMbalenhle.
They also launched a project to put up traffic lights at the Ekhaya Mall in eMbalenhle.
The founder of the law firm, Thulane Kgomo, said if all the law firms and other businesses in the region take hands and work together, they will be able to help more people with charity projects.
This law firm’s name was changed last year from TMN Kgomo and Associates Incorparted to Kgomo and Nsibande Incorporated.
Kgomo and Nsibande Incorporated is known for training young lawyers and Kgomo said many of the lawyers who trained with them, opened their own successful law firms in various cities in South Africa or are working in the private sector or government.
“We are known as the school of law in Mpumalanga and we are proud that we are able to give back to the community in this way,” said Kgomo.
He was involved in establishing a high court in Mpumalanga in Middelburg and Nelspruit respectively as well as getting a law department at the University of Mpumalanga in Nelspruit.
“Now law students can study in their home province and do not have to travel so far to study.”
It is a big achievement for Kgomo and Nsibande Incorporated as an office to be involved in establishing so many things in Mpumalanga.
Kgomo is the former chairman of the legal practice council where all lawyers in South Africa are affiliated and how now serves on the national legal council and the law society of South Africa.
It is important for Kgomo that people know where to go if they are let down by their lawyers.
“The general public can go to the law society of South Africa for help if their lawyers fail to help them in the correct manner,” said Kgomo.
