Grootdraai Dam records slight decline
Average water levels in the listed dams in the province remain unchanged

Mpumalanga water levels are stable at 95,3%.
According to the weekly state of reservoirs report of the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), average water levels in the listed dams in the province remain unchanged.
It is the same as last week’s and about 8,1% higher than the same period last year.
In the Water Management Areas (WMA), the Olifants WMA slightly dropped from 84,4% to 84,3% and the Inkomati-Usuthu WMA remained unchanged at 99,2%.In the Gert Sibande District, Nooitgedacht and Jericho dams recorded some improvements, increasing from 96,0% to 98,4% and 100,8% to 101,1% respectively.
The rest of the dams in the district that recorded declines in water volumes include Grootdraai Dam from 102,6% to 102,2%, Vygeboom from 101,4% to 100,8%, Westoe from 99,6% to 99,1%, Morgenstond from 99,9% to 99,5% and Heyshope from 100,8% to 100,7%.
The department encouraged the public to be as conservative as possible and use the available water in a wise and sparing manner, taking into consideration that the country is heading towards the dry, winter season.
They also called on every South African to make every drop count and prevent unnecessary loss of precious drops of much needed water.
