Police clamp down on drug dealing in Standerton’s township
Upon arriving at the identified address, a search was conducted, a 9mm pistol found and confiscated.
Standerton and Sakhile Police conducted intelligence-driven operations the past week, involving confiscating of an unlicensed firearm and drugs.
According to police, in the first instance they acted on a source who provided information on a suspect in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Upon arriving at the identified address, a search was conducted, a 9mm pistol found and confiscated.
Live ammunition were also confiscated and an arrest followed.
A source furthermore, provided information about an alleged drug dealer in an informal settlement at Cross Roads.
Police investigated and found the suspect in possession of 100 sachets of nyaope, as well as cash to the value of R5 560.
The estimated street value of the drugs is R6 200.
An arrest was made and in the third instance in the same area, nine sachets of nyaope were found, the estimated street value being R600.
Police apprehended the suspect as well.
Ext 4 was where an alleged drug dealer was nabbed, after police conducted a search at an identified address.
A total of 70 sachets of nyaope were confiscated and the suspect arrested.
The estimated street value of the drugs is R2 500.
