Come rain or shine in Standerton, the parkrun goes ahead
Siyabonga Kamhelo crossed the finish line in a time of 16:56, followed by Sifiso Siphamandla in 17:04.
A total of 69 participants enthusiastically adapted to the different route at the parkrun on Saturday, November 5.
More than one muddy puddle were waiting on the participants due to the rain the past weekend.
Thando Zililo, a visitor from Roodepoort, completed her 442nd parkrun and a round of applause was appropriate before Lizette Jansen van Rensburg did the countdown.
Eight athletes improved their times and two joined for the first time.
Siyabonga Kamhelo crossed the finish line in a time of 16:56, followed by Sifiso Siphamandla in 17:04.
Chuhla Phago completed the 5km in 19:24, while Anke van der Mewe registered a new personal best of 20:29.
Johan Ferreira clocked in at 23:32, followed by Jason Steynberg in 24:17 and Sibusiso Ngcobo, a first-timer, in 25:31.
Deon Steynberg’s time was 27:01 and that of Wikus Pretorius 27:28.
Elmien Vermaak, Elna Vermaak, Francois Streicher, Frans Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Marjorie Uys, Preyanka Dorasamy, Priscilla Ramdharee, Ronnie Moodley, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Vanita Moodley facilitated a smooth and safe event.
