Lekwa’s mayor wishes matric class all the best
I wish you all the best, I wish you translate all the skills and the knowledge you have acquired over the years into a marvellous performance when you write your exams.
The executive mayor of the Lekwa Municipality, Delani Louis Thabethe, conveyed his best wishes to the special matric class of 2022 the past week.
“Today marks 12 years since you first walked onto the school grounds as little toddlers where some of you were screaming and kicking when your parents left you on the school grounds, some were happy and excited of a new-found environment with new friends and new caregivers.
“That will be all in the past in few weeks, because as you start your examinations, you are only few weeks from exiting the same grounds you were scared and happy for in Grade 1.
“All that you have gathered, studied and collected in the last 11 years have come down to this, the final chapter of your schooling years.
“Your matric exams do not only mark the end of your secondary life, but also marks the beginning of your new tertiary life and your exams are a password needed to enter your tertiary studies.
“Together with your families, we hold our heads high, congratulating you for having made it so far.
“We go down on our knees to pray for you as you start your examinations.
“Your hopes, your dreams and your aspirations will be realised by the way you perform and you are a step closer from what you aspired to be in your earlier grades.
“It is at this time where we can say, you are the master of your own destination.
“All your hard work will be summed up by what you achieve in these examinations and you have withstand all the challenges in all these years, when others dropped out, you did not.
“In our books, you are already the achievers and only waiting for your accolades at the end of your examinations.
“You only need to push hard for the last time, you are closer to the finish line, do not get tired now, do not relax.
“This is the time to step forward, remember that if you do not step forward, you will be on the same spot forever.
“This is the time when you really must believe in yourself and all that you are and that there is no obstacle greater than you.
“Remember that nothing is impossible, you are about to work on what you really want to be in life.
“I wish you all the best, I wish you translate all the skills and the knowledge you have acquired over the years into a marvellous performance when you write your exams.
“Your families, your community and the whole of Lekwa Municipality are behind you and you are our pride.
“You hold our hopes, our future and our growth as the municipality in you.
“As a municipality, we still stand by the pledges we made earlier this year that the municipality and all the stakeholders, will ensure that those who excel in their exams, and would want to pursue their studies further, are supported and assisted to realise their dreams.
“We remain committed to the pledge that we will reward those schools that obtain 100% across the entire municipality.
“Our prayers are with you as you start writing.”
