Oscar John Kubeka from Standerton makes time for the needy
Kubeka completed his N6 with a distinction and currently studies marketing and communication through Unisa.
Oscar John Kubeka of Standerton is the proud recipient of a Section 08 philanthropy category award from the Top 100 Shining Stars of South Africa.
He is involved with an NPO, JOK that was established in 2016, donating school shoes and food parcels to the community, as well as running a mobile soup kitchen in Vrede.
Kubeka is the acting communications manager at Gert Sibande TVET College in town and was born in Vrede.
He moved to Standerton 10 years ago and joined the college for marketing studies in 2005.
Kubeka completed his N6 with a distinction and currently studies marketing and communication through Unisa.
“Marketing studies are a challenge,” he said.
The team at the foundation identifies the needy in the community and focuses on community projects.
According to him, hard work, dedication and commitment pay dividends.
“I would like to thank the main organiser, sponsors, donors, community and the beneficiaries for making JOK’s dream a reality,” Kubeka added.
