Women of Standerton want to make a difference
The two women are now ready to identify the needy in their community and would like to get the street kids away from housebreaking and theft.
Lindiwe Avontuur and Patricia de Lange from Azalea have the community’s best interests at heart.
Avontuur is the founder of an NPO, Khululeka Children’s Foundation, which was established and registered in 2021.
The name of the foundation refers to a place of freedom.
The two women are now ready to identify the needy in their community and would like to get the street kids away from housebreaking and theft.
“We are planning to invite social workers to come on board,” Avontuur said.
Food parcels will be handed out.
Both of them are concerned about the unemployment rate of the youth and the lack of sporting facilities in the area.
They are dreaming big and envisage a structure for the youth to accommodate their needs under supervision.
A lunch for the elderly was also scheduled at the Stanwest Hall for Saturday, November 12 and breyani was on the menu.
