Friends of the Library in Thirstle Grove host spelling bee
Nine schools in the region takes part in competition.
KINROSS – Thistle Grove Friends of the Library hosted a spelling bee at the Sasol Recreation Club in Kinross on Thursday, October 27 and nine schools in the Govan Mbeki municipal area took part in the competition.
Sasolia Primary School won the spelling bee while Osizweni Primary School finished second and EP Lekhela Primary School of the North West province third.
Athandwe Kolobe of Kamlile Primary School was the best individual entrant and won the competition while Precious van Wyk, also of Kamlile Primary School finished second and Ayesha Malek of Thistle Grove Combined School third.
This was the third yearly spelling bee competition that Thistle Grove Friends of the Library hosted.
The organisers thanked all the sponsors of the event.
