Prayers aim to uplift police’s spirit in Evander
“We face difficult situations every day and sometimes we need spiritual guidance because we are also human.”
EVANDER – Police in Evander held a prayer day on Wednesday, November 2 to uplift the police members’ spirit.
Together with stakeholders such as the Community Policing Forum (CPF), traditional healers and pastors, they gathered at the police station and prayed.
According to Sergeant Zukiswa Mxhotjelwa, the Evander Police spokesperson, there is a need to bring back morale and spiritual upliftment to the police.
“We face difficult situations every day and sometimes we need spiritual guidance because we are also human.
“We organised this prayer event to draw closer to the community that we serve.
“Sometimes being together encourages us and gives us hope in our work. We do not only have to meet when there are problems,” said Mxhotjelwa.
She said the community can also suggest programmes that they think can help in the fight against crime or crime prevention.
