Dr Emmanuel Okoli joins Mediclinic Highveld
With extensive training, new doctor can give patients best care.
TRICHARDT – Dr Emmanuel Okoli (45) recently joined the Mediclinic Highveld’s team on a full-time basis as a specialist physician.
Dr Okoli grew up in Nigeria, but moved to South Africa for better opportunities in 2007.
He worked in the HIV section for many years and after he finished his medical studies, he wanted to learn more about HIV/Aids.
He obtained his diploma in HIV management from the University of Stellenbosch and later also obtained his master’s degree in this direction.
He lived and worked in Cape Town for a few years and later exchanged it for KwaZulu-Natal where he oversaw the activities of the doctors in the district.
Dr Okoli always wanted to increase his knowledge and stay up to date with the latest trends in the medical field and he is continually doing new courses and learning more in his field.
He did his academics in internal medicine and completed his fellowship in 2020.
He has been working closely with Dr Kelebogile Khomo for the past few years, but as Dr Khomo wants to pursue further studies, Dr Okoli will be available on a full-time basis.

Dr Okoli’s experience at different hospitals and clinics, gave him the opportunity to be exposed to all aspects of internal medical conditions, from heart problems to brain problems.
He is excited to join Mediclinic Highveld on a full-time basis and said he would be able to offer patients the best care.
He also worked at Mediclinic’s Ermelo branch for a while before moving to Trichardt. Dr Okoli would still be able to help his Ermelo patients telephonically.
He obtained his public health qualification from Unisa and said he can give holistic treatment to all his patients.
In his free time, Dr Okoli enjoys adventurous things such as zip lining and being outdoors, spending time with his family and travelling.
He is married to Dr Uzoamaka Okoli, a medical officer who is practising in Johannesburg at the moment.
The couple has three children aged four, seven and nine.
Dr Okoli and his children are avid chess players, but he does not belong to a chess club at the moment.
