Locals take advantage of Black Friday in Standerton
Queues formed at the ATMs and especially Charl Cilliers Street, between Mbonani Mayisela Street and Princess Street, seemed to attract the biggest number of customers.
Locals made good use of the Black Friday specials on Friday, November 25 and those lucky enough with a salary deposit in an account, probably counted their blessings.
The sun was shining later in the morning after a heavy downpour and the temperature climbed somewhat.
Electricity tripped regularly in some parts of mid-town but stabilised later on. Standerton was a hive of activity in the CBD and parking spaces at centres were taken up by motorists.
Police were on patrol and security guards deployed in front of shops.

Standertonians fully embraced the Black Friday-term which stems from the United States of America.
This day marks the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 22 and tradition has it to be the beginning of Christmas shopping.
