Armed gang robs man in his house in eMbalenhle
eMbalenhle Police call for a neighbourhood watch and urged residents to be vigilant.
eMBALENHLE – eMbalenhle Police opened a robbery case after a man was allegedly robbed in Ext 14 on Friday night, November 25.
According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, eMbalenhle Police spokesperson, a group of men covering their faces with balaclavas, arrived at the complainant house and instructed him to open the door.
When he refused, the suspects fired off several shots.
The complainant opened his door and then ran for his life, leaving the robbers in his house. Mthethwa said the suspects then took the complainant laptop, iPhone and sound system valued at about R17 000.
Mthethwa said the community should stay vigilant as the festive season approaches and criminals are all over.
“We appeal to our community to look after themselves and their property, and to be alert. The spike in house robbery cases shows the urgent need for a neighbourhood watch.
“Let’s work together in fighting crime. Residents should report any suspicious activities around their neighbourhood,” said Mthethwa.
