Children in safe house receive bicycles
Donations of bicycles and motorbikes were made by the public and local businesses, ensuring that each child had a ride.
SECUNDA – Excitement and smiles from ear to ear filled the air when little ones and youth who are placed in Janelle Huis Child and Youth Centre were gifted bicycles and push bikes on Saturday, November 26 at the ATKV Kosmosrand offices in Secunda.
The ATKV has been in a caring relationship with Janelle halfway house for traumatised children for close to 18 years.
They have added the Secunda safe house for children and youth into their fold. During a recent day trip to a zoo, one of the children wished for a bicycle.

Tracey van Wyk, the ATKV chairperson, made this wish known and the public responded with such goodwill that they could donate nine bicycles and 13 push bikes.
The handover of these bikes took place in front of the Secunda safe house which was cordoned off for this occasion.
The day began with a big bang, exploding balloons and 40 children racing away on their bikes.
Every child was a winner and walked away with a medal. ATKV Kosmosrand thanked the community for their support.
