First December parkrun in Standerton attracts 77 participants

The volunteers who made the event possible, are Elmien Vermaak, Francois Streicher, Frans Vermaak, Johanne Vosloo, Lizette Janse van Rensburg, Marion Jean Robertson, Marjorie Uys, Renette De Sousa, Ruwam Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley, Willy Smith and Zeldine Strydom.

Parkrun director, Renette De Sousa let 77 participants out of the blocks for the 169th Standerton parkrun at River Park on Saturday, December 3.

The first, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh parkrunner in, did not have a barcode with them or were not registered and are therefor unknown on the system.

The second participant to cross the finish line was long-distance runner Chrizell Roberts who set the time at 21:00.

Werner Janse van Rensburg from Secunda visited the Standerton parkrun and finished third.

Regular parkrunner Theo Schönfeldt completed his 142nd parkrun in eighth place in a time of 26:47 minutes.

Nina Pretorius was ninth with a time of 26:49, followed by Jason Steynberg (27:52), Wikus Pretorius (28:10), Petra Fischer (28:46), Pomesan Govender (29:12), Thikolelwi Collins Muday (29:14) and Parth Jayram (29:15).
