Arisja Misselhorn takes over as editor

My New Year’s resolution is for my team and I to continue bringing you quality and relevant local news.

And so 2023 begins with me in the hot seat as the new editor for Ridge Times, Standerton Advertiser and Streeknuus.

Taking on the editorship is both daunting and exciting.

Those who know me, know that I have been in the media industry since 1992 when I began as a local reporter for The Echo in Secunda.

I have been part of the amalgamation process between The Echo and the Highveld Ridge in 1995 and worked for Caxton and Ridge Times until the end of 2006.

From 2007 to 2017 I worked for a daily national paper and then as editor of other smaller publications.

A short stint on the educational scene was enough time to enhance my respect for teachers.

This ‘prodigal child’ returned to her Ridge Times home in 2018 where I worked as a reporter and then as a sub-editor and online.

I am looking forward to meeting more readers of all three of our publications. You, our readers and our community, are why we do what we do best and who also enable us with information.

My New Year’s resolution is for my team and I to continue bringing you quality and relevant local news.

Regards
Arisja Misselhorn
