The Govan Mbeki Municipality failed to maintain this hall in Stasieweg (Station Road) and the building is now occupied by vagrants.
Donald Green, the spokesperson of the Govan Mbeki Municipality said the municipality is aware of the state of its facilities, as well as other amenities, that are deteriorating.
“However, the limitation of the repairs and maintenance budget has hurt the entire community,” said Green.
“The municipality is not ignoring the maintenance matter and other avenues are considered,” he said.
