One killed, 13 injured in multiple vehicle accident on R29 between Kinross and Leandra

A man died 13 others were injured when two taxis, a bus, and a truck collided on the R29 between Leandra and Kinross on Thursday morning, March 23.
According to Russel Meiring, spokesman for ER24 ambulance services, their paramedics arrived on the scene at 07:20 to find the provincial EMS and other services already in attendance.
“The truck, bus and two taxis were found in the middle of the road, with several patients seen scattered around.
“Medics quickly assessed the patients and found that one man had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing more could be done for him, and he was declared dead.”
According to Meiring, 13 other patients were assessed and found to have sustained minor to severe injuries.
“The patients were treated, and the critically injured were provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.”
