49 participants take on the Standerton parkrun

Thapelo Mahlangu completed the 5km in a time of 20:51, followed by Andiswamahlubi Hadebe in 23:43, a new personal best.

Close to 50 participants were out of the blocks at the Standerton River Park on Saturday, April 15 at 08:00.

Juma Kadar registered a time of 24:50, followed by Theo Schönfeldt who recorded a time of 24:57 in his new pair of shoes.


Athletes on their way to the finish line on Saturday, April 15.

Reneilwe Tsotetsi crossed the finish line in 28:01, followed by Daleney Grobbelaar in 28:02, a new personal best.

Vusi Mavuso’s time in his 50th event was 29:02 and Pieter Grobbelaar’s time in his 50th event was 29:04.

Thikolelwi Mudau completed the distance in 29:49, also in his 50th event. Zakkai Wessels’ time was 33:00.

Renette de Sousa, Ronnie Moodley, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Tharina Maree, Vanita Moodley and Wessel Herbst saw to a smooth and safe event.

The parkrun is a free event and participants, who compete against themselves, can run, jog or walk.
