Golf players support fundraiser in Standerton
The manager of Kosmos, Sanpat Coetzee, especially thanked Henning Buitendag, Tim Cochrane, Ronel Starbuck, Annetjie Steyn and Joey Swart for months of hard work.
Seventy golf players on September 30 supported the Kosmos Retirement Village’s fundraising golf day.
The players enjoyed a variety of sponsored products at the various holes and greens, including some interesting refreshments.
Although there was a R100 000 hole-in-one prize, none of the players achieved this goal. The day was supported with donations, products and vouchers by businesses and individuals.
The evening’s prize-giving and auction were well attended by the golfers, residents from the retirement village, their friends and families.
The auction included several expensive products, including a week’s holiday. The auctioneer was PM Swart, who entertained the guests with his customary witticisms.

Those who stayed for dinner were treated to lamb on the spit, a variety of salads and doughnuts for dessert.

She also expressed special thanks to Louise Visagie, who is the leader of all the village’s fundraising events and said the community can be proud of the work she does for more than one organisation.
“Louise is a pillar of strength for the village. Nothing is too much effort when it comes to working to make life easier for the elderly,” Coetzee said.
Coetzee also thanked everyone in the community for their continued support.
“Kosmos Retirement Village is proud to be a part of Standerton,” the manager concluded.
