TP Stratten hosts first Dala Festival in Evander
Evander’s TP Stratten Primary School’s goal with this event was to create an opportunity to celebrate its learners’ creativity and cultures.
TP Stratten Primary School hosted its first Dala Festival on October 25.
The word ‘dala’ means ‘create’ in isiZulu, and the school’s goal with the event was to create an opportunity to celebrate the learners’ creativity through arts and crafts, dancing, singing, poems, choral verse, science and technology projects and a robotic exhibition.
Stalls offered festival goers enticing foods and other products. The school hopes to make this an annual event.
“Myself and the staff are proud of the learners’ vigorous preparation beforehand and their excellent performances during the festival. Dala, dala TP Stratten,” said principal Mossie Ourique.
