Enthusiasm for parkrun not dampened in Standerton

Tshiamo Lephoto crossed the finish line in a time of 17:22, while Welcome Ndlangisa registered a new personal best of 24:30.

Altogether 81 participants waited on run director, Preyanka Dorasamy’s instructions on January 20 just before 08:00 to take on the parkrun.

This free event at the Standerton River Park offers runners, joggers and walkers the opportunity to compete against themselves.

Nine athletes improved their times and seven first-timers joined the activities.

Tshiamo Lephoto crossed the finish line in a time of 17:22, while Welcome Ndlangisa registered a new personal best of 24:30.

Meshack Magakwe completed the distance in 24:30, Wassie Rossouw in 26:13, Parth Jayram in 26:55, Andiswamahlubi Hadebe in 27:51 and Junior Madau in 27:55.

Pieter Grobbelaar reached the finish line in 28:23, Jané van Niekerk in 28:51 and Brendan Archer in 29:56.

Ayanda Dlamini, Conrie Roets, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lorinda Smith, Lydia Roets, Marjorie Uys, Nienke Swart, Renette de Sousa, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sonja Fouche, Timothy Hoop and Zeldine Strydom contributed to a safe and smooth event.
