Players compete in Gert Sibande District Darts Open in Secunda
In the men’s division, in the first position was Govan Mbeki’s Kyle Jonker, followed by Petrus Schoeman (Lekwa) and third place belonged to George Makhubo from Govan Mbeki.
Players were in action and aiming at top scores when competing in the Gert Sibande District Darts Open hosted at Sasol Darts Club on February 10.
In the men’s division, in the first position was Govan Mbeki’s Kyle Jonker, followed by Petrus Schoeman (Lekwa) and third place belonged to George Makhubo from Govan Mbeki.
The highest score a player can reach is 180. Kyle Jonker made this score twice, Rudie van Staden once, Leslie Naidoo once, George Makhubo thrice, Anrich Viljoen thrice and Quentin Rautenbach twice.
Riaan Cordier had the highest close with 139. Both Kyle Jonker and Leslie Naidoo used 15 darts to close a game.
In the women’s division, first place went to Marthie Cordier. She was followed by second place Anna-Marie Lezar and Karen Naidoo in third place.
Cordier scored 180 in one game and 140 in three others. Naidoo reached 140 twice, and Hermine Peens, Lezar and Anitha Ince once.
Peens had the highest closing score of 100.
Rick Robertson took first place in the juniors division. Second place was Dashiel Chulhai and third place was Keagan Rautenberg.
