Locals set off on weekly parkrun in Bronkhorstspruit
Bronkhorstspruit hosted their weekly Parkrun where the young and old participated.
Bronkhorstspruit hosted its weekly parkrun on February 10. It is a free 5km event for participants of all ages.
The parkrun offers the local community a chance to come together to enjoy the outdoors and be physically active.
People are encouraged to run, jog, walk and volunteer together. Parkrun is a free event.
Taking part is easy. Simply register before your first parkrun. Once registered, you can participate in the parkrun weekly.
Sue-Marie Oosthuysen finished first with a time of 26:32.
Riaan Oosthuysen finished second in a time of (28:19), followed by Tanya Kempff (31:17), Nikki Schoeman (31:18), Marnus Herbst (32:49), Kristian Greeff (33:47), Ryno Opperman (33:58), Harm Boer (34:21), Paul du Preez (34:33), and Valerie finished in tenth place with a time of 34:35.
Approximately 50 people joined in the parkrun.
The volunteers who made this parkrun possible were Adri van Wyk, Amish Rampersadh, André de Lange, Bhavna Rampersadh, Despina and Filia Rockas, Drienie Opperman, Lelani de Lange, Matteo and Mikhail de Lange.
