Public servants in Standerton hold peaceful protest

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (NEHAWU) held a peaceful protest on April 10 in front of the Jerrie van Vuuren Building.

As the large group chanted, the familiar ‘amandla’ and ‘awethu’ were heard. Amandla means power, and awethu is the reply, namely power to the people.

The Standerton Police and the traffic department made their presence felt at the intersection of Paarl and Princess streets.
