Protestors show support for murdered woman

Police and emergency medical services found her body on the bed.

Protestors from the Victim Empowerment Centre gathered in front of the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on May 27 to show support for murdered Mbali Nelly Mokgawa.

Her life partner, Michael Anthony Mazibuko (47), appeared in the dock that day in connection with her murder on May 25.

According to police reports, 28-year-old Mokgawa was found dead in her home in Ext 6, Sakhile, on May 25.

Police and emergency medical services found her body on the bed.

Mokgawa had multiple injuries, swollen eyes and bruises on her face. A burn wound was found on her right arm and her body was covered in blood.

According to the police, there were also injuries on her back, arms and hands, indicating she had fought against her attacker.
