Mediclinic Highveld celebrates Mental Health Awareness Day

Hospital honours healthcare professionals.

TRICHARDT – Mediclinic Highveld celebrated Mental Health Awareness Day on June 7 and specifically paused to recognise and honour their healthcare practitioners.

Sandy Deonarain, Mediclinic Highveld’s doctor relationship manager, said: “The compassion and resilience they exhibit every day in caring for others often come at a personal cost, and it is crucial that we also focus on their well-being.

“The challenges they face are immense, and the emotional and physical toll they take can be profound.

“Yet, every day, they continue to be the backbone of our health system, often putting their patients’ needs before their own.

“It is important to remember that caring for oneself is not an act of selfishness but a necessity. We are reminded daily of the critical importance of mental health in our professional lives and the lives of those we care for.

“As Mediclinic, we will continue to strive to create an environment where speaking up about mental health is met with support, not stigma.

“We are committed to supporting our doctors when possible. Together, let us continue to break down barriers and build a healthier future for all healthcare professionals.”
