Artists showcase their talent in eMbalenhle

The event aimed to uplift and encourage local artists and also develop young people by exposing their talent to the public while at the same time also encouraging them to stay away from drugs and alcohol abuse.

Artists and actors competed at the Kgotso Hall in eMbalenhle on June 22, in the Isinamuva Liyabukwa Art Festival.

According to organiser Nkosinathi Nkosi, the event aimed to uplift and encourage local artists and also develop young people by exposing their talent to the public while at the same time also encouraging them to stay away from drugs and alcohol abuse.

Nkosi said they first hosted a poetry and drama competition on June 15 at eMbalenhle Sasol Club, intending to bring change in people using their talents.

“Our next performance, the Insika Festival, will be held in Durban from July 25 to 28. We will appreciate it if the community and local businesses can support us in our trip to Durban,” said Nkosi.

Nkosi said anyone who wished to contribute to their Durban trip may call him on 060 817 9780.
