Toddler (2) from eMbalenhle missing

Little Khayone Xavier Pakeni disappeared at about 10:00 from a yard in Ext 16 in eMbalenhle on October 9.
According to reports from the eMbalenhle Police, the toddler walked with his mother to a nearby school to get water that morning.
Back at home, Khayone’s mother allowed him to play outside in the yard while she went into the house to make tea. When she was done, she went outside again to check up on her son, but he was nowhere to be found.
The mother immediately sought help from neighbours, who joined in the search for the child without success.
The matter was reported to the SAPS in eMbalenhle, and a missing person’s file has been opened for investigation.

The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is actively working on the case to locate the missing child.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi, has expressed concern over this incident involving a minor and has called on the public to cooperate with the police in sharing any relevant information that may aid in finding the child.
The General emphasised the importance of community involvement in efforts to locate and reunite the child with his family.
